USA Refugee Application​

To apply for refugee status in the USA, follow these steps:

1. Contact UNHCR or a U.S. Embassy: Reach out to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) or the nearest U.S. Embassy or consulate for guidance. 

   ​

2. Complete Form I-590: Fill out the I-590 form, which is necessary for refugee status application. 

   ​

3. Eligibility: Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, which include being outside the U.S. and fearing persecution in your home country. 

   ​

4. Register with UNHCR: If applicable, register with the UNHCR in the country where you have fled. 

   ​

5. Await Approval: If your application is approved, you and your immediate family members will be granted refugee status.
